Did you know the Guinness World Record for Window Cleaning traces its roots back to the 1970s in England? This thrilling competition made its way to the U.S. in 1989 and is now held annually at the IWCA Convention. The race is performed live on stage using three 45″x45″ windows, where each contestant must wet and squeegee them using specific tools—executing the task with speed, precision, and zero margin for error. With multiple judges and strict penalties for mistakes, only the best rise to the top.
Keith Witt, founder of Winco, didn’t just rise—he made history. Keith shattered the Guinness World Record three times, a feat still unmatched to this day. His final record stood so strong that the competition had to be redesigned with new window sizes just to keep the challenge alive. Even then, Winco’s influence remained—when new French champions emerged, they did so using Winco’s techniques, personally taught by Keith and Kevin at the 1992 ISSA InterClean Expo in Paris.
But these records were never just about trophies—they were about sending a message. Every win reflected our commitment to excellence, precision, and the relentless pursuit of quality for our clients. For over 30 years, Winco of South Texas has proudly upheld those same standards, and we continue to bring that same record-setting passion to every project we take on.
